Whilst the Parrots couldn’t have asked for a better start to their season (home runs to for all the guys and a mercy ruling in the 5th innings) the Pirates suffered an unexpected defeat from the newly promoted Base Invaders.
It could have been far worse for the Pirates as after the first 4 innings we had scored the grand total of 4 runs to Base Invaders 15. Luckily we started to remember how to play softball in the 5th innings and managed to put some runs on the board. Despite a spirited Pirate rally we left it just too late to come back and lost 23-18.
